In loving memory of Robert r. "Chip" Hamilton.

Chip was born on January 5, 1947 in Mooers, NY. He enlisted and served in the United States Air Force as a firefighter. After his honorable discharge he met and married Patricia Thew in 1972. Chip studied at Clinton Community College and graduated from Simmons School of Embalming and Mortuary Science in Syracuse to begin working in the family business, the Lester E. Thew Funeral Home.

When Chip entered a room, he never failed to make people smile, laugh, and feel good. Fundamentally, he enjoyed people. His humor was contagious and he was known for his off-the-cuff clever remarks. He loved to visit with others, and was quick to joke and laugh. Chip found much joy in living his life, and had a keen and rare ability to share that joy with others. Some of his happiest times were when he was boating and spending time at his camp on Lake Champlain.

He loved to travel and go camping with his motorhome. Cruising in his hotrod never ceased to produce his classic wide smile and twinkle in his eye. He was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed hunting and fishing. His knowledge of both antique and new firearms was vast, and he loved his collection.

Those who knew Chip know that, in loving all of life, Chip loved good food. He loved his breakfast and his filled-to-the brim cup of coffee. He was a wonderful cook and had mastered preparing and cooking wild game. He was a genuine person who didn't make empty promises about wanting to spend time with friends and family. Without fail, he made time to share his joy of life with those he loved. He had a big heart and a strong will.

He is deeply missed.
